Quality Childcare at Affordable Rates

At Reach for the Stars, we strive to provide quality childcare at affordable rates to all families in and around South Charleston. To guarantee a spot for your child, we require a registration fee of $100 ($130 for two or more children). We also have a free-of-charge waitlist for programs that tend to fill up quickly. This is a great option for expecting families, or those looking to transition out of the childcare they are currently using.

Tuition

& Fees

Childcare costs vary, and the best way to get tuition information is to speak with the Academy Director directly. They can provide tuition rates and walk you through our various childcare programs, and care options. They’ll also be able to answer all of the questions you may have.

Factors Impacting Tuition Costs

  • Your child’s age, and the programs they will be enrolled in.
  • The number of days, and the number of hours per day you need childcare.

Tuition is All-Inclusive

  • Farm-to-table hot lunches and snacks are lovingly prepared on-site daily.
  • All curriculum instruction, consumables, and activities.
  • School-age program tuition includes transportation from school to the academy each afternoon via school bus.

Assistance Programs

Reach for the Stars understands you want the best possible care for your child. There are a number of assistance programs available to cover full- or partial- tuition. Let our staff assist you in exploring the many options available. We currently accept the South Carolina Voucher (SC Voucher) Program.

ABOUT SC VOUCHER

The SC Voucher Program makes child care more affordable for families in need by making all or a portion of provider payments directly to childcare providers so parents can work or attend school or training. Provider payments are received promptly, often 3–4 days after online submission, and participation unlocks access to grants and other support through ABC Quality.

The SC Voucher program helps families afford child care so parents can work, go to school, or get job training. More than 1,500 childcare providers across the state are enrolled to accept vouchers. Learn more about the SC Voucher Program.

How to Qualify for SC Voucher

Qualifying South Carolina families may have access to childcare financial assistance from the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS). The primary financial assistance program at this time is known as COVID-300. To qualify for COVID-300 financial assistance, parent(s) or guardian(s) must:

  • Have a child or children between birth and 12 years of age
  • Work at least 15 hours per week, or attend school, or a training program
  • Have a gross income below 300% of the federal poverty level; for a family of four this would be up to $79,500 annually

How to Apply

To apply, please create a South Carolina Department of Social Services account and complete the application form. And remember, Reach for the Stars is here to help. Our team is happy to assist you in applying for this, or any other program.
